The Oklahoma City Thunder are set to face the San Antonio Spurs on the back end of a back-to-back. The Thunder will be looking to bounce back from their current two-game losing streak and the Spurs will be looking to build momentum coming off of a win against the Knicks.
Yesterday, the Mavericks took down the Thunder in a sluggish victory. Darius Bazley continued his strong play, scoring 11 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Ty Jerome continued to show promise in the loss, putting up 13 points on 71.4 percent from the floor.
The Spurs are coming off of an impressive 119-93 win against the Knicks. The Spurs won using a balanced attack on offense as they had six players score double-digits versus the Knicks.
The two sides have faced each other twice this season and the series is split 1-1 so far.
The Spurs will be without Devin Vassell, Rudy Gay, Derrick White, and LaMarcus Aldridge tonight. The Thunder will be without George Hill, Hamidou Diallo, and if the season trend continues will not have Al Horford either.
The Thunder currently average 14.5 turnovers per game which currently ranks 20th in the NBA so they will need to limit their turnovers tonight. The Thunder will also have to stop the Spurs’ balanced scoring attack as the Spurs had six players in double-digits during their win against the Thunder earlier in the season.
The matchup is set to take place at 8 PM CT on Fox Sports Oklahoma. This game serves as the final Thunder contest before the All-Star break as OKC Thunder wrap up the first half of the season tonight.
The Thunder will have a long lay-off, with their next game occurring on March 11th against the Dallas Mavericks.
This story will be updated with the official Thunder Injury report whenever it comes out, and pregame quotes from Mark Daigneault as well.
UPDATE: Al Horford is officially OUT with rest.
