The Thunder are looking to bounce back after a heartbreaking loss to the Timberwolves last night which came down to the wire. The game was intense the whole way and was Minnesota came out with the win after D’Angelo Russell sunk a tough 3 from deep with 2.7 seconds to play.
Al Horford was the primary source of offense for the Thunder scoring 26 points and coming close to a triple-double with 7 rebounds and 8 assists. Since the Thunder were shorthanded they were able to see the continued improvement from the younger players on the roster. Hamidou Diallo had a great night scoring 16 pts and dishing out a career-high 10 assists. Darius Bazley finished with a double-double, scoring 12 points and grabbing 10 rebounds and Isaiah Roby had a solid night on offense, but his primary contribution was doing the dirty work. Roby had 3 blocks and 3 steals.
Coach Daigneault was pleased with the performance and loved the Thunder’s effort which has been a major characteristic of this young squad.
The Thunder will look to limit their turnovers tonight as the Thunder had 17 of them which lead to 18 Minnesota points. The Timberwolves also dominated on the offensive glass grabbing 10 offensive rebounds. Those two elements were crucial in the loss and the Thunder will have to limit them if they want to leave with a win against the Timberwolves tonight.
