Main Takeaways

For two and a half quarters, the game between the Thunder and Heat was competitive. Each team would go on little runs, but the margin was manageable for the most part. But, midway through the third quarter, the Heat went on a blistering 20+ point run to take the game out of reach. After that, the fourth quarter was just a matchup of the two teams’ deep bench players.

SGA continued to show an improved mastery of the offense, setting up teammates for quality shots, along with his trademark drives to the rim for lay-ins. He continued to be cold from three-point range, but he should bounce back soon, (he is a much better shooter than his current percentage would suggest). Darius Bazley continued his surge of strong play, showcasing his perimeter marksmanship, ball handling, and an improved ability to finish at the rim. Lu Dort was also a strong performer in the game, shooting 50% from the field, utilizing strong drives to the rim, improved three-point shooting, and some nifty passing to set up opportunities for other teammates. All in all, it was a good night of development for the team, as they now shift focus to the Pelicans on Wednesday.
